Wooden floor in the living room preserved for generations with Osmo coating

Sanding instead of a new installation

First decide on which new colour you want your floor to have. For example, match it to your furniture and fittings or just go with your gut feeling. Clear the room and sand the old coating off. You can rent a sanding machine from a specialist merchant or hire a craftsman to do this. Then vacuum the floor thoroughly before recoating it with Osmo Dekorwachs.

1. FIRST COAT: CORNERS AND EDGES

First apply Dekorwachs thinly to the corners and edges with a roller.

Then distribute the coating with a white pad.

Sand the wooden floor, then coat the corners and edges with Osmo Dekorwachs in the desired colour and buff it in.

2. FIRST COAT: SURFACE AREA

Using a Mikrofaserrolle or a Flächenstreicher, apply Dekorwachs thinly and evenly in sections.

Always work with the wood grain.

Apply Osmo Dekkorwachs to the wooden floor with the wood grain using a Mikrofaserrolle and buff in.

3. FIRST COAT: MACHINE

Then evenly buff the surface in the sections, e.g. with the FloorXcenter and a white pad;
that way not too much material is applied.

Using Osmo FloorXcenter, buff Dekorwachs into the wooden floor with a white pad and spread the remaining coating

4. SECOND COAT

After drying for 24 hours, apply the second coat with a Clear Hartwachs-öl Original.

This protects the Dekorwachs surface and the wooden floor against abrasion.

After the surface has dried, apply Osmo Hartwachs-Öl Original to the wood floor for protection.
